Yes. Under Montana Code Annotated and administrative rules (ARM 24.156.813), licensed providers may practice telemedicine and prescribe medications without requiring a prior in-person visit. The Montana Board of Medical Examiners permits a valid patient-provider relationship to be established through telehealth interactions — including asynchronous methods — provided the provider meets the same standard of care as an in-person encounter.
